Frostdale Advances, a small-business funding service in Monroe, Louisiana, offers this calculator so owners can estimate the monthly payment on a $100K business loan, or any other amount. Enter the amount, a test rate and the term to see the payment, total interest and total repaid. It does not estimate eligibility, approval or payoff balances; partners set real terms.
The arithmetic behind the $100K tool
It applies the standard amortization formula: a fixed monthly payment that pays off the amount, plus interest, over the term you enter. It shows three numbers: the monthly payment, the total interest over the term and the total repaid. The amount starts at $100,000, but any amount works.
Limits of the $100K tool
- It does not tell you whether you can get a $100K business loan; partners decide that.
- It does not estimate how much you can borrow.
- It does not compute a payoff balance partway through a loan.
- It does not include fees, prepayment terms or any charges a partner might add.
- It does not cover merchant cash advances, which are not loans and have no interest rate.
A rate entered here is your own test value. Frostdale does not publish typical rates, and partners quote their own.
Reading the result, worked by hand
Start with a zero-rate baseline: $100,000 over 60 months is $1,666.67 a month, and over 36 months $2,777.78. Any positive rate raises both figures. When you enter a rate, compare the total interest line across terms: a longer term lowers the monthly payment but raises the total interest, while a shorter term does the reverse.
A simple test: run the same amount and rate at 36, 60 and 84 months, then ask which monthly payment your business can carry in a slow month, not an average one.
Business loan payoff: doing it by hand
Owners also search for a business loan payoff calculator. This widget does not compute a payoff balance. To estimate one, ask the partner for an amortization schedule, which lists the remaining balance after each payment. If the agreement allows early payoff, the balance on that schedule (plus any prepayment terms in the agreement) is the figure to compare.
